Dawn:
A 30 miler was on tap today. No rush with lots of stops to take pictures and say hi to the dogs and the horses.
I happened to stop and growing in the shoulder was this interesting fungi.
A bicyclists that passed me on very remote and rural CORD 303 and then we crossed paths again later.
I passed a car on the side of the road in Wyman Valley (Shangra La) and it seemed curiously out of place. I didn't see anyone inside though I didn't get close enough to see if anyone was lying down in the back. I drove on and about two miles down the road, I passed two sheriff deputy cars going from whence I came. Deputy cars almost always travel alone so this must mean something. I decided to turn around and see where they ended up. To my surprise, they were parked behind the car I just passed on the side of the road.
In the driver's seat was an woman who appeared to be in her young 30s with shoulder length ashen blonde hair and wearing a collarless black striped shirt. On the rear view mirror, hung a lei. The deputy and the woman seemed to be having a reasonable conversation. I nodded but did not dare try to take a photograph as I passed; though I might have been in my legal right to do so, this was not worth testing the deputies' tolerance for first amendment rights.
I traveled down the valley road and by the time I returned, another vehicle had arrived with a man who drove the car away.
Onward. To home. To bake the stuffed mushrooms I prepared earlier for the Thanksgiving dinner we were attending.
Now back home after a very good gathering with friends for a great dinner.
I am thankful. Moist definitely.
