20 August 2011 Ride: Feeling Naked

Well, it seems as if the post for the 20th (today) that I posted earlier, did not post and the draft that is usually saved is nowhere to be found.  Par for the course, I guess, technologically, as there was only one picture on the post today since I left the camera on the counter when I went out to ride with Rachel  from the Botanical Garden to the Farmer's market and back. Here is the lone picture, taken when I came back from a short morning ride and saw this deer in our neighbor's yard.  This fuzzy, nothing out of the ordinary shot would normally have ended up on the cutting room floor.

 

Getting out of the truck at the Bot Garden and discovering I had left the camera, left me with an almost sickening feeling; I felt incomplete and naked.

Rachel and I did have a good ride and I managed to do without the camera.  Probably it's a good thing to be without technological aids and supports once in a while.  I did wish I had the camera when I passed the shoes on the trail that I have been keeping an eye on.  Someone had moved them to the edge of the trail and they sat pigeon-toed in relation to each other about two feet apart. 

Today's Ride:  2hrs. 45mins.  27.80 miles.  86-96 degrees.  Miles YTD:  5,552.32
