23 August 2011 Ride: Today's Another Day

I missed the 5:10 Express this morning but I was able to catch the 5:20 Local.

This is one of those accidental shots.  I rested the camera on a brick mailbox to try and catch the pasture and trees in the low light.  But what emerged was a fascinating picture of the bricks lit by two small nearby lampposts.

A sunrise with personality.

More lumberjack duties today.  After the ride, I found a tree that wasn't quite dead but definitely dying.  A 60 foot oak that still had good solid wood.

It didn't turn out to be my best hinge cut but the fall was clean and the tree landed where I wanted.  Once the tree was down and I started cutting the branches, an orange object beneath the tree caught my eye.  I thought maybe something fell off my chainsaw.

No miniature golf course around here, or regular golf courses for that matter.  There are certainly a number of ways the ball could have gotten there but I find it interesting that the ball was discovered because of the tree I chose to cut down.

Blood, sweat and sawdust (the blood is from the thorns that kept catching my skin).

Today's Ride:  2hrs. 9mins.  25.10 miles.  78 degrees.  Miles YTD:  5,664.09

And, a very BIG THANKS to Sharon Braxton for her one time donation to Biking for Food. Thank you so much!
