20 September 2011 Ride: Stasis

The over-exertion was trying to rear its ugly head yesterday as I sensed the hints of coming down with something; a slight tickle in the throat and a super sensitivity to perfume scents from cleaners and detergents are a sure giveaway.  I moved into defense mode and began to consume copious amounts of liquid as a way of detoxifying (tequila does count as a liquid, doesn't it?).  Some several liters later, I seem to have things under control.  Of course, a minimal ride was in order today which was such a shame since it has been a gorgeous day.

My ride was in the afternoon when it was warmer but the pictures below are from the morning walk when it was 51 degrees.

It was a good day for working on details for the Shreveport ride.  As the plans come together, I'm getting more excited about heading out Saturday.

Some healing salves for Keith who had a close encounter of the third kind with three dogs, running into one of them and thus receiving some frequent flier miles as he flew over the handlebars.  Fortunately, except for some major bruising, which he will surely feel more tomorrow, he is okay.

Today's Ride:  67mins.  12.62 miles.  78 degrees.  Miles YTD:  6,546.37
