No pics today. A day or rest, of sorts. Trying to regain my equilibrium after the 24 hour ride. I worked on sorting through the pics from the 24er but did not make it any further. Hoping to compile that post tomorrow.
Other than feeling a bit tired, doing well. Except for the saddle, I am not overly sore or hurting; the posterior more than makes up for how well the rest of the body is doing. Upon examination, Carol said besides redness there is actually bruising and I certainly felt it on today's short ride.
With the wind blowing, I drove to lower ground and ended up riding in a neighborhood across from the Botanical Garden not even wanting to deal with folks on the trail on this Labor Day. I wore two pair of bike shorts and that helped but if I pushed too hard I was severely reprimanded by my bottom side. Thank goodness for ice packs.
I slept well, though, Carol did not. She said I would not stop snoring no matter how much poking, shoving and kicking she did. Well, I would stop but then I would start up again a half hour later. Anticpating the snoring, I should have slept in the guest room like I thought about doing a few days ago but forgot about when I went to bed last night.
I'm in a bit of a daze over the ride as it feels all so unreal. Riding for 24 hours? It doesn't seem possible. Definitely a great sense of accomplishment.
Today's Ride: 68mins. 10.26 miles. 77 degrees. Miles YTD: 6,221.13
Can't wait to hear more about your 24 hour adventure!
