16 October Ride: 40 is the New 20

I wasn't sure how I would feel after yesterday's 100 miler.  But I awoke in good spirits and ready to go.  This was supposed to be a day of rest, of sorts, so I thought that maybe I would only do 20 or 25 miles.    I drove down to the bottom of the hill and took off just before sunrise to do the Habberton Road area.

I was a bit tired and dragging some and the wind didn't help.  But 20 miles came and I certainly was game for 25.

The wind picked up and getting back would be nice but the more miles done today only meant fewer to be done later when the weather may not be so cooperative, like in December.  25 turned into 30, 30 into 35 miles and, what the heck, let's go 40.    Calculating the miles I need to complete 10,000, if I can't do a 40 miler after doing a 100, there wouldn't be any way I was going to pull this off.

Today's ride:  3hrs 20mins.  40.10 miles.  58°-76°  Miles YTD:  7,436.41

Number of miles per day needed to reach 10,000 miles by the end of the year: 33.73
